SEO Audience Targeting As Well As Recyclable News Aggregation And Follow Up

Written by
I absolutely love the topic of news and how it has evolved with the onslaught of social media and the web in general. Hacks have earned the accolade of online news sources. Seasoned news hounds from the stuffy print newspaper newsrooms have been scooped and charge around with chips on their shoulders. Print editors who have allowed stories to slip in favor of allowing someone to slide have been greeted with pink slips. And infotainment editors who charge their way into the Google News feed serve as little more than the day's muckrakers of sensational and sometimes fraudulent headlines who often perform as nothing more than human aggregators or regurgitators. Well, the first link of the lot is not necessarily focused upon the specific subject of muckrackers but is an interesting piece on user-led content and the terms breaking news. Also in the mix is audience targeting when crafting SEO content for your blog or other social media outlet. Conversion rates and followup are also covered. Get your business on.

How 'Newsful' is Your Content?

  • INTRO TEXT - In the world of user-led media, one form of content is always coveted by the recipient more than most.  Surprisingly, it's not something which always stirs debate.  And, it's not necessarily 'breaking' news. The 8-Step SEO Strategy, Step 1: Define Your Target Audience and Their Needs

  • INTRO TEXT - Until recently I headed up technical marketing for Yahoo Media, where our competition was in verticals like news, sports, movies, games, and finance to name a few. In terms of online competitiveness, this is nothing to sneeze at. This is how I learned to base everything I do on strategy.

When Conversion Rate Isn't Enough

  • INTRO TEXT - The history of web analytics has read a bit like the quest for the Holy Grail. We've gone through a list of candidates searching for the one true metric: Hits, Page Views, Visitors, Unique Visitors... stopping at each one to admire its purity and virtue while denouncing the heresy of whatever metric it replaced (usually, one whose purity and virtue we were just praising the week before).

Follow-up Is the Momentum Building Power Tool

  • INTRO TEXT - Woody Allen was attributed with the quote – “eighty percent of success is showing up” but I would add that in marketing it’s all about following up.
